This website offers information about many aspects of our good and friendly relations between Germany and Bangladesh. Trade and development cooperation are particularly important aspects of our relations. Germany is the second largest export market for Bangladesh worldwide. Bangladesh-German development cooperation encompasses 37 years of commitment of the German government to Bangladesh. Since 1972, the German government has made available 2 billion Euro of direct bilateral assistance and another 2,4 billion Euro of indirect multilateral contributions to programs of the European Commission, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations Organisations in Bangladesh. Together with the government our focus is to improve the health sector, the energy sector and the governance sector. And do not miss to look at the information about our scholarship programmes: with more than 100 scholarships in the academic and professional field annually Germany has a lot to offer.
